Sam’s Story

Evan and Erin welcomed their second child, Sam in late 2019. A month after bringing him home the pandemic hit and the world as they knew it came to a sudden halt. Soon after, Sam was diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) and later cerebral palsy. Like many families during the pandemic, Erin and Evan had to contend with the loss of in-person support from early intervention professionals, therapists, and family members. This was a tough road to walk alone.

Erin reached out to United Cerebral Palsy of Nebraska for support and as a result we have become fast friends ever since!  This family has been a huge asset to our organization in so many ways. Sam has even helped us raise money through our Hit the Links Drive Against Disabilities Golf Tournament by demonstrating his amazing putting skills! He enjoys checking out technology from out Tech Tools Lending Library Program, one of his favorites is the Bubble Blower.
